Today has been crazy. I met a lot of new people today, some of whom I might even call friends. I got Trebor into the safe settlement and Found a doctor named Woo. She patched him up and took some of my medical supplies as payment. She then said she’d take the rest in exchange for two weeks worth of food.
Anyway, I had gotten all situated when a man showed up. Called himself “Doc” and had me take Trebor to his clinic, which was much nicer and cleaner then Woo’s. He put clean bandages on him and told me he could provide better care, for free even. I couldn’t believe it.
Then this chick showed up, called herself Red. He’s a scavenger by trade, it would seem. She and the Doc were tight. The Doc told me to demand double what Woo was asking, claiming she was a fraud. Well, I did, and she agreed, surprising. Then, I headed to Red’s apartment and hung out with her and Doc for a while.
They are pretty cool, and friendly. Things were on the up until we went back to check on Trebor. The guards shoved him into quarantine, claiming he was showing the early warning signs of the infection. I tried to tell them it was a gunshot, not a bite, but they didn’t care. The Doc got all manner of pissed, and stormed off. He came back with Woo in arm, claiming she was infected, too. They locked her up as well. He then said we could save them both if we could get him to his old lab. At this point, I’d do anything to save Trebor.
Before we left, another guy named Cal showed up and said he wanted to help. I guess we were feeling trusting, so we let him tag along. He has this kick-ass army gun, real legit stuff. He and I got to talking as we left the safe settlement. His buddy, Dave, had gotten bitten. He went to a safe zone for help, but the guards just put his friend down like an animal. Poor dude.
Red is a pretty cool chick. She’s all about “no man left behind” too. She smiles a lot, which is weird given our circumstance. I wouldn’t mind hanging with her some more.
Then there’s the Doc. There’s more to this fellow then meets the eye. He knows a lot more then just your average medical stuff. He knows a lot about the infection, and claims to be able to stop it from taking hold of someone. Sounds crazy, but I believe him.
Anyway, we ran into a few zombies, but we escaped after putting a few down. We were suppose to enter this mine, but the entrance was sealed. Doc said we had to climb the mountain to find an entrance shaft. We had to scale a rock wall to go up, and then we walked for a few minutes and made camp.
So, we’re all settled. Cal is up in a tree - crazy bastard. Doc has a lot of surprises, because he gave us some goodies. Cal got a sight and a silencer - real military grade hardware. Anyway, got a big day tomorrow. If it’s anything like today, I’ll need my rest.
