Our story begins on the merchant ship Southern's Fortune. Three passengers are heading north, Elenya Lindale, V2Z4, and Bayson Mogul, in search of adventure. When they arrive at the port of Southmost, they each over hear the crew of the Southern's Fortune talking about how they were robbed at sea, and without anyone's knowledge. This intrigues them, but they go their separate ways.
Elenya and Bayson meet once again as another ship arrives, one chartered for ferrying animals, specifically Elenya's horse and pet wolf, Kaz, and Bayson's elephant, Infant. The two exchange names, and take their mounts, the horse and the elephant, to the stables.
Meanwhile, a drow trying desperately to remain anonymous, one Sibyll Demier, arrives in town and finds a suitable inn, the Last Stop Inn. The barkeep is a friendly dragonkin of green scales, and sets her up in a room. Another newcomer to the port is Thourin Stonefist, who catches many a glance as he walks alongside, or sometimes atop, his large earth elemental. He searches the town for something to peak his interest.
After the stables, Elenya decides to take an interest in the plight of the Southern's Fortune. She arrives at the dock, and the first mate tells her that the captain would like hire her for some work, if she is up for it. He tells her to meet the captain at the Last Stop Inn at sunset.
Crew members of the Southern's Fortune locate V2Z4 and Bayson, saying that the captain thought they looked like capable adventurers, and he was looking for some folk to take up a job. They both agree to meet the captain at the Last Stop Inn at sunset, although when the crewman first tried to speak with V2Z4, he was asked to speak with his sword, which almost made him run in terror of the agile automaton.
On his way, V2Z4 searches for a bounty board. There is only one bounty, it seemed, for one notorious naga called Silverfin One-eye. He is wanted for attacks on ships coming in to Southmost, dead or alive for twenty truesilver guineas, a sum worth twenty-thousand silver. He has been seen in the northern marshes of South Teritin, the isle that Southmost is on, along with at least a dozen naga raiders under his command.

Black is Southmost, Gray is the northern marshes. I need Photoshop... |
Bayson decides to arrive early to the inn. Thourin Stonefist and his elemental find themselves entering the Last Stop Inn, by some form of fate (winkie). The dragonkin bartender shouts, "Oy! You can't bring that thing in here!" Thourin is quite oblivious to the customs of city life, and when the barkeep demands he put his friend outside, he orders the elemental to burrow. And so, the elemental tunnels straight through the floor in to the ground. "Are ye mad?" the dragonkin shouts, "You're paying for that!" Thourin uses his magic to raise the dirt so it is level with the floor, claiming to have fixed it. Bayson watches while sipping a drink he ordered. "Are all cave dwarves this rude?" he asks, before Thourin conjures a ball of dirt and throws it at him, "I guess so." All this commotion in the inn was making Sibyll nervous, and when the barkeep sends for the guards, she decides to pay for the damages before hurrying off to her room.
Elenya and V2Z4 arrive. Elenya reacquaints with Bayson before the captain arrives. He declares for all the inn to hear, "Any able bodied fighter lookin' for work, join me in the back room." The trio invited joined him, and as the door closes, Thourin slips inside and casts a spell that allows him to blend in with the wall, so long as he doesn't move. When the captain begins, Sibyll realizes she is in the room adjacent to the back room, and can over hear them (winkie blinkie).
The captain explains that a chest, bound for the magical city of Haven, was stolen from his ship. He says he can delay leaving the port for three days, but he must have the crate returned. The party wonders how they might find it, and he shows them a talisman. When he speaks the word "reveal" a map of the island appears, with a blinking light as to where the chest is. With the word "disappear" the image fades.
V2Z4 mentions that the light was in the northern marsh, where Silverfin One-eye has been seen. The captain claims, "He's hit my ship before." The construct explains that One-eye has a dozen men, and they are only three. Bayson says, "I have an elephant." V2Z4 then agrees to take the job. The captain explains he has a limited budget, but he promises to pay. The others agree.
Thourin begins to rub his hands together, excited at the idea. He is then visible to all, and they question his presence. He declares that he will join them. In the other room, Sibyll decides to go after the bounty as well. After all, twenty truesilver is a small fortune for one drow on the run.
As the four, V2Z4, Elenya, Bayson, and Thourin make preparations to set off, Sibyll thinks about getting a head start on them. What they don't know it that a pair of adventurers, one gremlin and a Haven elf, are already on the bounty. Hopefully, these seven adventurers will find common ground in the hunt for Silverfin One-eye!
