World of Darkness - Session 5

Flashback (I forgot to include this at the beginning of Session 4, so this event happen then): A suited man drags himself, bleeding and wounded, to Mark's house.  Mark comes to him, and sees he is dying. The man is handcuffed to a small case.  The man tells him to hide the thing he carries, and to protect it.  The man dies shortly after.  Mark checks him for identification, and finds a Secret Service badge.  Mark removes the case and manages to open it.  Inside is a vase all too familiar to him, and strikes fear into him.  He quickly finds a spot and buries it.  (End flashback)

The next morning comes, and Mark Davidson picks up his SUV, now armored with bits of scrap metal.  He, Abigail St Clair, Ardan O'Neill, Catelyn MacArthur, and their bizarre friend Kiben Tink, all load up what guns they have, what ammunition they have, and some food as they prepare to once more enter the town of Bear Gate.  This time, Mark picks them up wearing a bulletproof vest, and questions about his past continue to rise.  He tells them all he was a cop in Miami.

They drive over to Bear Gate, and Mark circles the town, observing.  They notice no zombies except around the salt mine at the northern end of town.  Kiben asks what they are doing, as the trod is in the park, and easily accessible.  Mark explains that he needs to pick up a bone whistle for Willy.  Kiben suggests the wait for nightfall, to avoid the smart, living ones.  The party is confused, and question him further.  He explains that pale skinned, hairless people are alive, but mad and will rip anyone apart.  But, they go to sleep at night, and the zombies become more aware after nightfall.  They decide to wait until night, having experienced the hairless people before, and preferring the zombies.

Night falls, and Mark drives up through the southern end of town.  All the way into town, they see a pair of animal eyes following them.  Mark turns of his running lights and tries to navigate with his eyes alone.  Despite his eyes adjusting, he runs into something that make the SUV stop.  As he and Abigail try to figure out what they hit, Ardan and Catelyn look out the passenger side and see w high school.  The notice the front door closing, as if it had just been opened.  Mark backs up and sees that he his a motorcycle.  He drives around it and continues.

As he drives, the begin to hear the moans of the undead, and quite near.  Suddenly, a hand slaps upon Mark's window.  An arm wraps around his side-view mirror, and a zombie begins to crawl up.  Abigail rolls down her window and tries to bat it away.  It crawls over to her window and starts to climb in.  She fires her rifle and blows its head off.  Another hand appears on the back window.  Mark throws the car in reverse, and back up into the school, crushing the zombie, before driving ahead.  Those in the back seat notice hands on the windows of the school, and see glass breaking.  They all hear a mass of chilling groans from the north.

They finally reach Fifth Street, which is part of the address given to Mark by Willy.  He decides to go right.  They find the intersection Willy gave Mark, and see a house on their left.  Mark parks and he and Ardan get out.  Ardan has his shotgun in hand, and Mark has a pistol and knife.  When they come up to the door, they notice it is locked and that there is a pile of pale skinned, hairless bodies thrown to the side of the front door, their brains destroyed.  The windows are also boarded up.  Mark knocks and calls out, saying that they are alive.  A voice emerges from within, asking what they want.  Mark says, "Willy sent us to pick something up."  The man inside replies, "Willy, eh?  Oh, I got something for him."

The doors opens.  Its pitch black inside.  A man emerges from the shadows, shotgun pointed at Mark.  He fires buckshot into Mark's vest, throwing Mark backwards.  Mark tries to keep his cool, saying that their friends (despite being shot).  The women see the gunshot and get their weapons ready.  The man says, "Bring this as a message for Willy," and points his gun at Ardan.

Ardan dives out of the way of the shotgun blast, taking a piece of buckshot to his flank.  From behind the gun-totting stranger, a massive figure is seen in the shadows, his eyes glowing.  Mark shoots and grazes the shotgun wielding man.  The massive figure jumps over the guy and pounces on Mark, his form huge and furry.  Its a werewolf!  Ardan drops his shotgun and starts punching out the guy with a shotgun, who returns but smacking him with the butt of his shotgun.  Mark is pinned down by the massive beast, and tries desperately to fight back.

Abigail calls out for the fighting to stop, and Kiben grabs her rifle, saying, "I need this for a sec!"  Catelyn starts to take aim and shoot at the attackers, mainly the massive werewolf.  Kiben returns Abigail's rifle, shiny and like new.  Abigail starts taking shots, and the weapon seems to work better.

Ardan cracks a few of the guy's ribs, which pisses him off.  The guy then transforms, revealing he, too, is a werewolf.  Kiben comes out of the back window with his .22 revolver, closes his eyes, and fires blindly while screaming until his weapon is empty, where he proceeds to just drop it and return inside the vehicle, hitting nothing important.  Mark is savaging biten until he passes out.  Catelyn finally fires a shot that puts down the werewolf on Mark.  Suddenly, a brown wolf appears out of no where and tackles the other werewolf, biting it in the arm.  Ardan starts to punch it out, and it throws the wolf inside before turning to Ardan.  With a powerful blow to the head, Ardan knocks the werewolf unconscious.

Abigail and Catelyn scream for everyone to get inside, as the sounds of a horde fo zombie draw too close for comfort.  They drag Mark and the two werewolves, now back in human shape, inside.  The close and lock the door.  Inside, there are strange carvings and tribal imagery that give Ardan the creeps.

Kiben begins to panic that he dropped his gun.  The wolf seems to protect Ardan, who tells everyone that her name is Luna, and that she follows him everywhere.  Catelyn, with Abigail and Ardan helping, gets out her medical kit and stabilizes Mark.  They turn to the first werewolf, the pair still living, but Luna stops them.  Luna growls and refuses to let them near.  She rips out his jugular and then moves to the next one.  With Abigail's help, Ardan is able to calm Luna down, and they manage to stabilize the last werewolf.  Abigail finds the bone whistle and a gun locker.  Kiben helps her open it and they find a high-powered, military grade assault rifle inside, which Ardan and Catelyn (both former military) identify as a SCAR-H.  With it is one magazine and forty rounds.

The house becomes surrounded by zombies.  Some bang on the windows.  The party moves Mark to a bed.  Then, the first of the barricades begin to come down.  Ardan rushes over to a window as a zombie peeks his head in.  He tries to punch it out.  Behind him, another boarded window begins to break.  He grabs his shotgun and starts firing.  A third window breaks open.  Abigail manages to kill the first zombie at the first window, and starts to patch it up with some nearby wood.  Zombies begin to come inside through the third window.  Ardan blocks the path and fisty-cuffs the zombies.  The party begins to panic.  Kiben yells that he has an idea, grabs Mark's pistol, and charges out the front door, firing five rounds into the air.

The zombies around the house are attracted to Kiben, who jumps into the SUV, that was never turned off.  He fires at a few of the zombies and yells, "Meet you at the park at dawn!" before peeling out and driving away, luring the horde behind him.

Once the remaining zombies were dealt with, the party waits until the next morning.  Ardan destroys all the tribal imagery he doesn't like.  When the sun rises, Catelyn is able to give Mark enough aid to be able to move, with a crutch and sling.  Mark is finally conscious at this point, and claims the SCAR as his.  Despite the werewolf's injuries, they decide to wake him. He refers to Ardan as 'Forsaken' and when asked to identify himself, he calls himself 'Pure'.  At hearing this, Mark says they should kill him, and Ardan obliges.

Morning has come, and they are without a vehicle, running low on ammunition  and they see pale-skinned, hairless people outside the house.  They find a radio and try to contact the SUV, but after a long silence, they hear what sounds like a zombie playing with the radio.  With no idea what happened to Kiben, and no means to traverse the town quickly, they plot their next move.
