It is night, and the party sleeps. Sibyll Demier and Kirin Drakos are at the Benlag capitol, while V2Z4, Elenya Lindale, and Silvertooth Dreadwind sleep in the city of Mog in the Dragon Plains. As they sleep, they all appear in a silver hall.
The chamber appears to be made of pure silver, with statues of angels made also of silver. Two beings of light stand before them, and they recognize them from the Benlag island. The pair were guarding a Celestial Vault, and have brought the party there. They tell the party that the higher powers have deemed their quest worthy of blessing. The pair ask each party member what one thing would they like from the vault.
First is V2Z4, who asks for a weapon. They give him a rapier made of solid diamond that will never break. Next was Sibyll, who also wanted a weapon. They enchant her sword with starlight, so it will cause further harm to beings of darkness. Then was Elenya, whom was indecisive, but the beings knew what she wanted. They blessed her wolf, Kaz, so that he would live as long as she would, plus one week, and should he ever fall in combat, his spirit would linger and he would come back to life on the next full moon.
Next was Kirin, whom was giving an Amulet of Valor for is deeds in Benlag, which will give him courage when he needs it most. Finally, it was Silvertooth's turn. He thought for a moment, and then he said that he found himself falling unconscious during battle too often. They gave him a jerkin made by the Demigod of Earth, and was enchanted to give the wielder the regenerative ability of the trolls, so he could recover from his wounds and keep fighting.
At last, they said they had one last gift to give. The party was separate, but they could fix that. When the party awoke, they found themselves together in Mog. A voice told them that their troops were told of their departure and await the time when they will strike at Icurnas.
The next morning, they all get breakfast in the tavern below their rooms. A traveler from the land to the east arrives, named Talphius. The party overhears some dragonkin talking about a dragon named Daviloth that is terrorizing the city of Kog. They also speak of a dragonkin named Tylos that is seeking warriors to help him slay this beast. Upon hearing this, the party declares that they are going to Kog to join him.
Talphius is intrigued by this, and approaches Sibyll, speaking to her in drowish. He asks if they are a group of heroes, as he has been sent by the eastern kingdom to find and aid a band of heroes. She tells her friends that he is bothering her, so he turns to Elenya and tells her the same thing in elvish. She explains his meaning to her comrades, and they are always searching for aid against Icurnas, so they accept him into their band.
They travel to Kog and find Tylos, announcing that they will join him. He takes them to a tavern and buys them a round and tells them what they will face. He, himself, has slain a young dragon before, and made a sword from its horns, named Banehorn. He claimed it could pierce dragon scale with ease. He also had winged boots, that could propel him into the air, and the plan was for the party to distract the dragon so he could jump upon its head and deal a killing blow to its brain. He warned them that a dragon's breath is deadly, but V2Z4 knew he was immune to it, and it was agreed that he would fight the dragon head on. Tylos warned that the dragon's blood was corrosive, so they should buy extra weapons if their's were not magical.
The next morn, they ventured out to attack the dragon in its lair. Tylos has a horse-drawn cart, full of provisions. Kirin and Tylos bonded, being both dragonkin heroes. V2Z4 speaks to Tylos about joining them after they slay the dragon, in the fight against Icurnas. He says he will, and that a battalion of griffin riders owe him a favor, so he will bring them as well.
The night before they were to come upon the lair, Silvertooth sneaked out of camp and found the lair. He awoke the dragon Daviloth, and told him he was an agent of Icurnas. He warned Daviloth that the party had come to kill him, and that one of them had a sword that could slay him, and that he could fly. He told Daviloth he should ambush them while they slept, and told them where they were.
The rest of the party awakens to the beat of huge wings, and Daviloth drops down before them. His presence was too much, and V2Z4 and Kirin dropped their weapons and turned and fled. With their headlong fighter in the wind, the party morale evaporated. Tylos took his sword, and used his boots to blast into the air, hoping to end this here and now. Daviloth snatched him from the air in his maw, and bit him in half. His sword tumbles a few yards away from Talphius, as Daviloth laughs and says, "I was warned about you, flyer!"
Talphius goes for the sword, as Elenya begins to fire at the dragon. Kaz and Sibyll flank the dragon, trying to distract it, and cause harm. Its blood spills onto Sibyll's armor. Talphius met by a blast of dragon flame.\, knocking his own sword from his grasp, and staggering him. As V2Z4 and Kirin flee, an image of the Demigod of Fire appears before them. He cries out, "Is this how my chosen warriors behave? Get back in there!" They find themselves more afraid of him then of the dragon, so they turn to face it.
The pair rush for their weapon, snatching them up. Daviloth turns his head towards them, and shoots a blast of flame. V2Z4 isn't even singed, but Kirin suffered under the fire. Daviloth took notice of V2Z4's immunity. Talphius came to his senses and dives for Tylos' sword. Sibyll and Kaz continue to pick away at his flank and rear, while Elenya shoots. V2Z4 charges the dragon, who swings his claws at him and his great maw, only one connecting for damage. Talphius rushes in with Banehorn and strikes a grievous blow to the dragon's leg. The dragon then takes flight.
Talphius rushes back to Tylos' body to retrieve the boots, and V2Z4 stands between him and the dragon. The other make ready to dodge any attacks. Elenya fires another arrow, and Daviloth swoops towards her, blasting fire at her. She drops her bow, the flames scorching her. Talphius quickly puts on the boots, as Daviloth dives down in front of Elenya. With a chomp of his maw, she falls dead.
Talphius uses the boots to fly through the air, landing on Daviloth's neck. He stabs down into its head, and it roars with pain. The rest rush to attack, trying to give Talphius a chance. Daviloth was stunned by his previous blow, giving him another shot. The sword drives straight through the skull, splitting the brain. Daviloth falls over, dead.
Talphius swiftly comes to Elenya's side, pulling out a healing potion he had. He fed her one of its three doses, and she is restored, having only been dead for ten seconds or so. In the battle, the horse and run off with the cart, and Silvertooth, seeing the dragon had lost, caught the horse and gained control of it. He rode it back. When the party demands to know where he had been, he claimed that he was asleep in the cart when the horse took off, and that it took him forever to get it under control. His story is believable, and so they do.
The loot the dragon's lair, and get a mass of treasure, and a bunch of cool items that I'm not going to list. They also carve up Daviloth, keeping his bones and scales. In the lair is the skeleton of another dragon. V2Z4 had a portable portal to Haven, which they use to transport the goods. Before they depart back to Haven, Talphius takes the sword and the skull of the dragon back to Kog and meets the griffin riders. They agree to join in, as payment of their debt to the deceased Tylos.
With their massive wealth, they buy a sizable estate in Haven, with kobold servants. Talphius' father is the royal blacksmith, and they send him the scales to be made into armor, and craft a sabre out of a horn for Silvertooth. Talphius, V2Z4, Kirin, and Elenya all now have armor made from green dragon scales. With their gear prepared, and their armies ready, the party begins to make final preparations for the assault of Icurnas.
